CVS News is the Bi-Monthly newsletter about and for the voluntary and community sector in Hull.

Published since 1982, CVS News contains news, views, information and comment on matters of relevance to the voluntary and community sector in the city. Each issue contains:

• updates about CVS services and facilities;
• details of forthcoming training, conferences and events;
• information about volunteering issues;
• news about funding;
• and a notice-board highlighting various useful snippets of information for local voluntary and community groups.

CVS News is circulated free to voluntary and community organisations in the city, and to our Statutory partners. Please contact the CVS Administrator on 01482 324474 to be added to the mailing list, or email news@hull-cvs.co.uk to receive CVS News in PDF by email.

Articles that are if interest or relevance to local voluntary and community organisations are welcome. Contact the editor at news@hull-cvs.co.uk if you wish to submit up to 200 words for inclusion.

03/09/2008 - Nominations for the Hull Compact Volunteering Pioneer Awards 2008

National Compact Week takes place from 1^st to 7^th November 2008, and to promote Hull’s Compact as well as recognising and celebrating the contribution that volunteers make in Hull, nominations are now invited for the Hull Compact Volunteering Pioneer Awards 2008

18/08/2008 - British Red Cross Flood Fund

The British Red Cross Flood Fund is due to close for new application on 22^nd August 2008. Please ensure all applications are in before this date

13/08/2008 - Grassroots Grants

Hull CVS has been awarded a three year grant to become a Grassroots Grants Local Funder by the Community Development Foundation who manage the fund on behalf of the Office of the Third Sector. We will be working alongside York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation who have been awarded a similar grant to deliver Grassroots Grants in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
