What Sort of Group?
The first thing we can help you with is to think through what sort of group or organisation you want to set up. Groups range from very small informal self help groups with very little structure, to large formal organisations like Charitable Companies. We can guide you through the process of registering you Charity or Company, pointing you to the right advice if you need it.
The right structure for your group or organisation will depend on its purpose and the likely scale of its activities. We can help you think about what this is likely to be and give you information on how to get established.
Governing Documents
We can give you information about writing your Constitution or Rules, or point you to the right advice if you need another Governing Document. We can also provide information to help you make sure you are following the Governing Document of your organisation, and help you and your members understand it.
Setting up a Committee
We can give you information and guidance and training to ensure that the people involved are clear about their responsibilities and confident in their role.
Getting Going
We can help you put in place the various policies your group or organisation might need to operate, and start thinking about how to promote and develop your group. We can also help you with the information you will need at key stages in the life of any organisation, for instance finding and managing money; employing staff; taking on premises.
Winding Down
We can even help you through the process of winding your group or organisation down, pointing you to the advice you might need and making sure you have the right information
