Our charity shops do much more than sell donated goods. Every sale, every Gift Aid declaration and every great customer experience helps generate the income we need to care for animals in Hull and East Riding.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Retail Shop Supervisors to join our team.
We currently have a range of part-time opportunities in Beverley and Hessle, together with casual positions providing cover across our retail operation in Hull and East Riding. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys retail, likes working with people and takes pride in running a welcoming, well-presented and successful shop.
What you'll be doing
Working with our retail team and volunteers, you'll help make sure the shop runs smoothly and achieves the best possible results. You'll be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maximising sales and Gift Aid, maintaining high standards of presentation and housekeeping, pricing and rotating stock, supporting promotions and ensuring our shops are safe, secure and professionally run.
A big part of the role is leading people. You'll support, motivate and organise our fantastic volunteers, helping create a positive environment where everyone feels valued and able to contribute. You'll also have responsibility for cash handling, security and day-to-day administration, alongside maintaining high standards of health and safety.
We're looking for someone who
Has experience supervising people in a retail environment and is confident dealing with customers, volunteers and the occasional challenging situation.
You'll be organised, practical and proactive, with a genuine focus on customers and results. You'll need a basic understanding of cash handling and stock management and be comfortable using everyday IT.
Charity retail or Gift Aid experience would be an advantage, but what matters most is having the right attitude, strong people skills and the drive to make your shop successful.
For roles involving cover across our shops, you'll need to be flexible and able to travel between locations. The current role profile requires a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
